Hi friends,
Will you sing an Alphabet song with me?
It's time for the Letter of the Day:
(tune is the Farmer and the Dell)
The letter of the day,
The letter of the day,
Hip, hip, hip-hooray,
Today is letter "L"!
Can you draw a big letter L in the air?
Stand up, point your magic finger out in front of you. Now draw a tall down, slide right.

*Letter J practice using the American Sign Language Alphabet can be found here.
L says "Luh"
And L says "Luh"
Every letter makes a sound
L says "Luh"
Can you think of words that start with the letter L?
Today Ms. Suzy reads Llama, Llama Time to Share by Anna Dewdney:
Now, go stand in front of a mirror & try to make as many funny faces as you can, until you laugh...How many seconds will it take to laugh? Make a prediction...ok, go!
Ah yes, laughter truly is great medicine.
You can find out more about the science behind laughter, here in this TED Ed video or check out this interesting nonprofit, Laughter for a Change.
I was thinking about laughing & mirrors as a starting point for you guys to make some art. This one is silly enough to explore, especially after investigating all those funny faces you can make in a mirror. You would need a mirror (or a window) & a dry erase marker or two. Use the marker to trace what you see reflected in the mirror, or have a friend stand on one side of the window & trace their features. It is actually really difficult & boy are the results silly! Another thing you could try are these magical floating drawings (a more thorough explanation can be found here).
Toodeloo, Kangaroos!
